Description:

Portfolio Manager- Retail Tech
Reporting directly to the Head of Technology Retail, the Portfolio Manager will play a critical role in overseeing the technology portfolio, driving key projects, and providing strategic support to the leadership team. This position requires a blend of strong project management, analytical skills, risk managment and leadership capabilities.
Supports management by contributing towards strategy development and implementation, to draw up, implement, guarantee and monitor internal business processes and acts as a linking pin for other business units so as to enable effective and efficient operation.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the bank’s technology portfolio, including projects, initiatives, financials, risks and workforce.
  • Support the Head of Technology in developing and executing strategic big rock initiatives to drive the bank’s technology agenda forward.
  • Review the backlog of portfolio work reprioritize the work and the deployment of project resources to optimise portfolio.
  • Assist in board, regulatory and executive support activities, including preparing presentations, briefing materials, and facilitating engagements where necessary.
  • Communicate the actions needed to implement the function’s strategy and business plan within the team; explain the relationship to the broader organization’s mission, vision and values; motivate people to commit to these and to doing extraordinary things to achieve local business goals.
  • Collaborate with Office of the CIO, HR and department leaders on workforce planning initiatives to ensure the technology team has the necessary talent and resources to achieve its objectives.
  • Lead and manage special projects as assigned by the Head of Technology, ranging from process improvements to organizational change initiatives.
  • Provide risk advisory support, including identifying and mitigating potential risks related to technology initiatives and operations.
  • Serve as a liaison between the technology team and other departments, fostering collaboration and alignment on cross-Retailal initiatives.
  • Monitor industry trends and best practices, providing insights and recommendations to inform technology strategy and decision-making.
  • Support the Head of Technology in fostering a culture of innovation, excellence, and continuous improvement within the technology organization.
  • Coordinate and facilitate strategic meetings, workshops, and retreats to promote alignment and drive key outcomes.
