JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Project Portfolio Manager is expected to possess robust communication and leadership skills to effectively oversee a portfolio of projects, ensuring the achievement of organizational and client objectives. This individual will be a self-starter, capable of working independently while also being a collaborative team player. A key requirement is the ability to proficiently plan and allocate resources across diverse projects, ensuring adherence to allocated schedules, budgets, and quality standards.

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Portfolio Manager
  • Knowledge of portfolio management methodologies
  • Ability to manage portfolio activities to meet goals
  • Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in the field
  • Preferred certifications: Project Management Professional (PMP) or Portfolio Management Professional (PfMP)
  • Project Management Experience in handling:
  • SAP projects
  • Integration projects
  • Migration projects
  • Estimations & Project resourcing for implementing proposed solutions
  • Stakeholder management
  • Risk Management

Responsibilities:

As a Portfolio Manager, you will be responsible for leading large-scale projects, translating complex client business requirements into formal agreements. This includes collaborating with client team members and executives to identify business opportunities and subsequently leading capability redesign, initiation, planning, control, execution, and closure of the client’s solution. Your responsibilities span various process activities, encompassing planning, execution, risk management, and stakeholder management.

  • Establishing a strategic portfolio plan
  • Coordinating the planning and initiation of portfolios at different completion levels
  • Monitoring portfolio progress, budgets, and schedules
  • Communication with portfolio and project stakeholders
  • Supervising project managers’ work
  • Collaborating with project teams to identify issues, risks, and improvement opportunities, designing strategies to mitigate future portfolio risks
  • Developing evaluation criteria for portfolios and proposals
  • Formulating rules and procedures for portfolio decision-making
  • Compiling and disseminating portfolio status reports, budget expenditures, etc.
  • Proactively aiding in managing a portfolio of upcoming project initiatives
  • Active involvement in business development activities to identify and research opportunities in new/existing technologies
  • Developing or redesigning strategies to tackle complex technical challenges for clients
