Description:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

PhD in neuroscience or related field. Required qualifications include expertise and experience in calcium imaging in awake mice. Also, experience in complex analytical and statistical approaches to the analysis of calcium imaging data in relation to behavior.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Research experience in motor systems including the cerebral cortex is preferred. Strong skills in online, real-time data acquisition are preferred as is hands-on experience in neuroscience research methods, laboratory protocols, and data management. Experience training and working with others on laboratory protocols and research methods. Evidence of strong writing skills including peer-reviewed publications.
80% Lead and collaborate on research projects using wide-field calcium imaging in awake, behaving mice. Projects require performance and knowledge of calcium imaging techniques and analysis including working with large complex datasets. Also, will work on the analysis of previously collected calcium imaging data in a mouse models of brain disorders. Projects involve extensive statistical and computational analyses of the data sets obtained as well as writing manuscript and progress report as well as contributing to grant writing.
15% Serve as an expert resource to lab members including sharing analytical and software tools. Coordinate with collaborators in the lab to ensure projects move smoothly and resources are shared. Provide laboratory with regular updates on progress at laboratory meetings.
5% Participate in lab inspections, lab safety training and other University required trainings.
