Description:

The Orthopedic Surgery Department at the Nemours Children’s Hospital in Wilmington is seeking a Post- Doctoral Fellow to conduct research protocols related to pediatric orthopedic problems. Key focus of the research will include;
Develop standard operating procedures for a robotic joint testing system used for multiaxial testing of musculoskeletal specimens, and support its use in various projects by maintenance, training, and running tests.
Provide routine training to users of various other mechanical testers.
Coordinate between Nemours and DCMR and laboratories that share their equipment with the University community through Nemours / DCMR.
Perform mechanical tests of biological specimens.
Develop new experimental procedures and apparatus in response to user requests.
Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair laboratory equipment, working with external vendors as needed.
Fabricate or coordinate the fabrication of test fixtures.
Ability to write maintainable software for data acquisition, analysis, and modeling, especially using the Labview, python, R, and Matlab scientific software stacks.
Requires minimum of an Advanced/Master’s Degree
Engineering degree is preferred; Science degrees with engineering experience is welcome as wel
