POST-DOCTORAL FELLOW - SOIL CARBON DYNAMICS

We are looking for an enthusiastic soil or plant scientist to undertake research on soil carbon dynamics to underpin the development of indicators for increasing soil organic carbon to mitigate emissions in agricultural systems in New Zealand.
This position is fixed term, full time, reports to a Senior Researcher, Land Use and Ecosystems Team, and is based at our Lincoln site.
You will possess a PhD in soil or plant science and have a good knowledge of soil organic carbon with a focus on soil carbon dynamics and stabilisation processes. You will have experience in conducting fieldwork, collecting data, laboratory analyses for measuring carbon in total soil and soil fractions. A solid background in statistics, and the ability to perform qualitative data analyses is essential. Competence in the use of scientific scripting/programming language(s) such as R, python, or C++ is required. Experience with proximal sensing techniques, such as spectroscopy, is advantageous. You will be a well-organized, flexible, pragmatic, and reliable individual who enjoys working as part of a diverse multidisciplinary team.
The salary for this role ranges from $83,7844 to $111,712 depending on work experience.
