The Faculty of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences (FHSE) brings together expertise from the humanities, linguistics, cognitive sciences, social and educational sciences. People from across 20 disciplines are working within the Faculty. Along with the disciplinary approach a very ambitious interdisciplinary research culture has been developed.
The faculty’s research and teaching focuses on social, economic, political and educational issues with the common goal of contributing to an inclusive, open and resourceful society. The FHSE offers six Bachelor and twenty Master degrees and a doctoral school providing students with the necessary knowledge and high-qualified skills to succeed in their future career.

Responsibilities:

The Post-doctoral researcher will contribute to research in the field of numeracy research using a cognitive neuroscience approach.

  • Participate in the development and implementation of electroencephalography (EEG) experiments based on the fast periodic visual stimulation (FPVS) technique and focusing on the development of high-level cognition
  • Participate in the development and implementation of behavioral experiments investigating typical and atypical development of numeracy and literacy, as well as semantics
  • Present the results at scientific meetings
  • Write scientific publications for peer-reviewed scientific journals
  • Participate in grant writing to acquire competitive research funding
  • Contribute to public outreach efforts of the cognitive science and assessment institute
  • Participate in the supervision of research projects led by bachelor, master and PhD students
  • Provide organisational support of the research field and its activities within the research group of Prof. Dr. Christine Schiltz
