Description:
The incumbent will serve as a post doctoral scholar with research teams from the John Glenn College of Public Affairs and the Center for Human Resource Research at The Ohio State University. Both centers collaborate to operate a state administrative data center, and work on extensive applied, evaluation and original research projects. The broad area of work is education and work, and the individual would join an exciting team of interdisciplinary scholars and staff.
The OLDA is an administrative data center operated by the OSU in collaboration with state partners. Since 2012 we have offered the State of Ohio and academics data services. These services include both technical work with administrative data, as well as analytical work. The post doctoral scholar would become part of a robust team of some 60+ staff/faculty/students.
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Applicants should have a Ph.D. or Ed.D. in a quantitative field, such as Public Administration, Education, Economics, Sociology or Engineering. Must have experience in data analysis, social science, program evaluation, academic writing, and programming skills: STATA, Python, or R
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Advanced econometrics, Tableau, SQL
Responsibilities:
Prepare data from OLDA (Ohio Longitudinal Data Archive) and other administrative files. Data preparation will include loading data, merging files from complex panel data, conducting regression and other statistical procedures, preparing files for use with modeling software.
Design and build complex regression models. Requires a familiarity with evaluation models including probabilistic matching, Interrupted time series, and regression discontinuity.
Write reports, publications, and presentations in collaboration with larger team of staff and researchers.
Other duties as assigned.
