Description:

THIS POST IS FIXED TERM/SECONDMENT FOR 24 MONTHS DUE TO FUNDING.

We are seeking motivated and dynamic pharmacsts to join our team in Swansea Bay University Health Board.
Alongside your practice as a pharmacist, we will also support you to undertake a recognised post-registration qualification or credential. This involves following a structured programme of learning to enhance your autonomous practice, pharmaceutical knowledge and skill set in hospital pharmacy, to deliver the complex and specialist care needed for our patients. Where feasible and appropriate, we will also provide each pharmacist opportunity to gain prescribing competency.
We welcome applications from foundation trainee pharmacists registering with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) in August 2024 and from pharmacists who have already gained registration, in any sector of practice.
Career pathways in hospital pharmacy are many and varied and we are proud supporters of investing in people into their chosen specialist and advanced roles. This early career post, fully supported by our team of skilled mentors will provide you with the necessary foundations in practice to progress into your chosen field and could be the start of your rewarding journey as a hospital pharmacist.
As a post-registration pharmacist, you will participate in a 2-year fixed term rotational training programme. This will involve rotating across a maximum of two base sites and participating in ward and dispensary services within specialist areas provided within each site. If applicable and appropriate, applicants are asked to document their preferred training site(s) within their supporting statement.
The role will involve working within the extended pharmacy and multi-disciplinary teams where you will further enhance your autonomous practice and confidence as a post-registration pharmacist. You will be supervised by a team of highly experienced practitioners and have the opportunity to network and gain peer support from others progressing through their own post registration training by joining a series of study sessions.
Programme requirements vary, depending on the chosen provider. Providers include the Post-registration foundation programme run jointly by HEIW and Cardiff University or a Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy, depending on feasibility and eligibility criteria.
The pharmacy team provides a 7-day service and an out-of-hours emergency service. The role will involve developing competence across these services and participating in rotas in accordance with each base site.
We believe staff are our best asset and we want you to be happy and confident about starting your career here in Swansea Bay University Health Board.
As one of the biggest healthcare groups in the UK we can offer a wealth of professional training and development opportunities in an innovative, forward-thinking organisation.
You might be a nurse or doctor, maybe you specialise in a health science/therapy or can offer skills in one of our support services - we have a job for you.
There are also apprenticeships, work placements and volunteering roles available.
We are an inclusive employer and welcome applications from everyone whatever their sex; religion or belief; race; age; sexual orientation; gender identity or, whether they are pregnant or have recently been on maternity leave, married or are in a civil partnership; or, whether they are disabled.
