Description:

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Grade 12 or equivalent; preference given to those with work and/or personal experience in a post secondary setting
  • Superior communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Working experience in a First Nations environment
  • Excellent computer skills

Responsibilities:

  • To coordinate post-secondary education & nominal role funding programs
  • To work with the post-secondary education committee in the development of new programs and local education initiatives for adults, youth and community members.
  • To complete post-secondary registry, related reports and additional documentation for ISC and other funding agencies.
  • To maintain and accurate up to date secure and confidential filing system for post-secondary students and other students.
  • To prepare, approve and make timely requests for tuition, books and living allowance payments for ‘Namgis PSSE students approved and sponsored by ‘Namgis.
  • To monitor student progress and provide advice and guidance to students
  • To provide secretary/receptionist support services at the CICLC
  • To be responsible for bookings for the CICLC to assist Employment & Training is ready for renters
  • To see external funding for local training and education initiatives via proposal submission to external funding agencies
  • To create a resource library for scholarships, bursaries and student loans
  • To create a resource library for universities, colleges and adult education programs
  • To prepare annual budgets and submit related progress reports to funding agencies
  • To attend related workshops and training with FNESC and ISC
  • Other related duties as may be required from time to time
