Postdoc for Bioinformatics

JOB DESCRIPTION:

As a Senior Scientist for Bioinformatics, the candidate will contribute to the day-to-day research as well as technical development at the Joint Microbiome Facility of the Medical University of Vienna and the University of Vienna. A major responsibility will be to design, implement and update bioinformatics pipelines and customized bioinformatics analyses in the area of microbiome research, with a focus on pre-clinical and clinical medical microbiome research, as well as integration of multiple data types. The facility is located at the campus of the general hospital of Vienna (AKH) as well as the University Biology Building (UV), and working time would be split between the two locations.
The successful applicant will also communicate with other bioinformaticians and Facility users and collaborators to manage data curation and analysis for diverse projects, and be involved in the publication of results in international peer-reviewed journals.
