Institute of Mountain Emergency Medicine
The postdoc will be involved in studies investigating the mechanisms underlying physiological responses to high altitude/hypoxic exposure in humans. (S)he will also be given the opportunity to design and realize his/her own studies within this field. Experiments will be conducted in the terraXcube, the environmental simulator at EURAC Research (https://terraxcube.eurac.edu), and/or in high altitude research stations. The position can start from September 2024 and will last for one year, with the possibility for extension.
Tasks:
- Designing study protocols
- Study preparation (Obtaining ethical consent, subject recruitment, etc)
- Performing experiments in humans exposed to high altitude/hypoxia
- Analysis and publication of results
- Applying for third-party funding
Requirements:
- PhD in physiology or similar
- Strong publication record in integrative human physiology
- Interest in high altitude/hypoxia
- Experience with experiments in humans
- Motivation to design and perform complex projects in a challenging environment
