DESY-Zeuthen
The Cherenkov Telescope Array (CTA) is a ground-breaking, next-generation facility for high-energy gamma-ray astronomy. DESY is among the largest contributor to the construction of CTA. It leads the development of the CTA Monte Carlo simulation pipeline and aims to implement FAIR data management workflows within the framework of the PUNCH4NFDI consortium.
About your role:
- Contribute to the implementation of the CTA Monte Carlo Simulations Pipeline
- Conduct physics research utilizing data from existing gamma-ray experiments (VERITAS, H.E.S.S.) and CTA prototypes
- Collaborate with a team of astrophysicists and data scientists to meet project goals
- Disseminate findings through publications, reports, and presentations
About you:
- Ph.D. in physics or astronomy
- Experience in Monte Carlo simulations or reconstruction methods for astroparticle or particle physics experiments
- Experience or proven interest in data management
- Knowledge of programming (python) and scientific computing methods
- Good knowledge of English
