SUMMARY

The Psychiatry Department at the Baylor College of Medicine is seeking a highly motivated individual as a full-time post-doctoral scholar in Dr. Chadi Abdallah’s AI neuroimaging laboratory, focusing on development of BrainLM (brainlm.net) in collaboration with Dr. David van Dijk’s laboratory (vandijklab.org). The focus of this position will be on developing and applying advanced AI analysis strategies tailored to model brain activities in health and disease, using Generative AI approaches, processing of structural and functional MRI data, and compiling and organizing large brain imaging repositories.
The Center for Advanced Magnetic Resonance Imaging (CAMRI), directed by Dr. Abdallah, at Baylor College of Medicine is equipped with cutting-edge Siemens instruments dedicated to research. Dedicated Linux servers appropriately equipped are available for this project. The postdoctoral fellow will be mentored by Dr. Abdallah in clinical and technical aspects of neuroimaging and AI implementation in neuroscience. Mentoring is a strong focus in Dr. Abdallah’s laboratory as demonstrated by prior successful pre-/post-doctoral fellowships awarded to previous trainee. All trainees are encouraged to pursue competitive fellowships and career development awards with hands-on guidance and dedicated mentoring. Typically, a fellowship and/or career development award proposal submission is expected by the end of the second year after a trainee joins the team.
