The Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine (HJF) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing military medicine. We serve military, medical, academic and government clients by administering, managing and supporting preeminent scientific programs that benefit members of the armed forces and civilians alike. Since its founding in 1983, HJF has served as a vital link between the military medical community and its federal and private partners. HJF’s support and administrative capabilities allow military medical researchers and clinicians to maintain their scientific focus and accomplish their research goals.

The incumbent will be responsible for the development, validation, evaluation, and implementation of molecular assays for use in the detection and quantification of pathogens of US Military and National interest. The incumbent will be a part of a dynamic scientific team to develop and improve diagnostic assays exploring novel ideas and approaches to detect infectious agents. Adapt existing assays improving performance, specificity/sensitivity and detection and quantification of pathogens of clinical and clinical research significance. The incumbent will be expected to apply molecular biology techniques and scientific principles and concepts to support clinical research initiatives and develop improved diagnostic assays. The incumbent will work within a multidisciplinary environment consisting of US Military, US Government, academic, and international collaborators.
This position will be in support of Diagnostics and Countermeasures Branch (DCB)/Research, Assessment and Development laboratory (RAD)].
