Description:

We are seeking to appoint a computational scientist who enjoys developing AI tools to join the laboratory led by Dr Monika Gullerova to reinforce our team’s effort in targeting RNA by small compounds.
The post holder will be responsible for carrying out own academic research and will be actively involved in planning and leading the development of AI for RNA-drug interactions. You will be supported to formulate and develop your own scientific questions within the scope of the group’s interests. The position offers an exciting opportunity to work at the world-class biomedical research institute and to participate in the development and application of computational methods for RNA targeting.
The successful candidate should hold, or be close to completion of, a PhD/DPhil in computational biology, statistics or relevant subject area such as molecular biology. You should have strong computational skills and have past experience working with RNA and small compound data sets. Critical thinking, good communication skills, and ability to work as part of a team are essential.
Applicants who hold a BSc/MSc degree in a relevant subject will be considered for a Research Assistant position that will be offered at Grade 6: £32,332 - £38,205 p.a. with reasonable adjustments in the job responsibilities.
