Description:
A Research Associate is sought to work on laser/accelerator synchronisation at the Cockcroft Institute of Accelerator Science and Technology. The post holder will be primarily involved in developing experimental tools for measuring the synchronisation of laser and particle accelerators and feedback to control the temporal jitter, plus associated theoretical and numerical modelling. The post holder may also carry out research in other areas of laser science applied to particle accelerators, especially in laser plasma wakefield acceleration. The post is full time and is fixed term for 1 year.
Any applicants who are still awaiting their PhD to be awarded should be aware that if successful, they will be appointed at grade 6, spine point 30. Upon written confirmation that they have been successful in being awarded their PhD, they will be moved onto grade 7, spine point 31 from the date of their award.
