    The University of Southern Queensland’s Centre for Agricultural Engineering (CAE) is focused on delivering applied, practical and profitable research solutions that strengthen agricultural productivity and address environmental management challenges in Australia and Overseas.
    The Robotics, Automation and Machine Vision team develops integrated advanced robotic sensing technologies that enhance automation in agricultural and food production. A key area of the program team is machine perception to discriminate conditions in real-time for automated food and meat processing.

WHO YOU ARE

We are seeking a motivated Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join our dynamic team at CAE. In this pivotal role, you will lead the development of innovative machine perception techniques to optimise meat and food processing through robotics. Your work will directly impact the efficiency, consistency, and quality of agricultural and food production processes.

By joining our team, you will play a crucial role in developing advanced robotic technologies that are essential for ensuring consistent high performance in meat and agrifood processing, while also providing increased flexibility in the labour workforce. In this key role, you will:

  • Develop new machine perception techniques so that robotic devices can skilfully perform meat and food processing with great consistency.
  • Work with research partners to perform industry trials of robotic technology to evaluate labour saving and value add for processed products.
