A 24 month post-graduate placement, starting 2024, is available within our Maintenance department based at our Carlisle site. The role involves working in an industrial environment as part of a team that is responsible for the maintenance of a wide variety of manufacturing machinery. Typical machines used are Banbury Internal Mixers, extrusion lines, Calendars, tyre assembly machines, curing presses, uniformity and balance testing machines and conveyor systems.
OUR REQUIREMENTS:
Completed undergraduate degree (within an engineering discipline)
Good keyboard skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Able to work safely in a factory environment around manufacturing machinery.
Organisational skills and self-motivated, able to work on your own initiative in a fast-paced environment
Good communication skills, and able to work effectively as part of a team
Flexibility and adaptable to change
Ability to turn knowledge and skills into hands on investigation and problem solving
This is a great opportunity to gain some valuable experience within a large manufacturing environment. The successful candidate should have a positive can-do attitude, be flexible and adaptable in their approach and have a good eye for detail and be well organised in their approach.
The successful applicant will work 37.5 hours per week (office hours), Monday to Friday, although flexibility is required to work beyond these hours when required.
Salary for this role will be £26,677 for year 1, with a review to take place when entering year 2.
Responsibilities:
Working as part of our maintenance team to work on a spare part holding and obsolescence project.
Working in a factory environment, coming into contact with; hydraulics, pneumatics, PLC control/ automation and steam and water tempering systems, supporting the maintenance and engineering department.
Taking responsibility for leading a project
Working in an office environment alongside our central maintenance team.
Engaging with a variety of people including the Production team, Engineering team, Maintenance Supervisors, Project Engineers, and purchasing Department.
Liaising with our suppliers and subcontractors.
