Description:

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Strong knowledge of the IT industry/technology solutions to manage and support the provision of digital solutions across the Council
  • Excellent understanding and experience of gathering and clarifying business requirements
  • Knowledge, preferably Microsoft certifications (e.g PL-200), relating to Microsoft Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI and Portals.
  • Strong experience of application building and architectural design.
  • Demonstrable understanding of the role and significance of digital solutions in the wider business operations Knowledge of technology suppliers, agile approaches, project management
  • Strong understanding of technology requirements and good awareness of key trends and developments in the IT industry and potential commercial and operational implications
  • Excellent understanding and experience of gathering and clarifying business requirements’
  • Demonstrable experience of the whole development lifecycle for Microsoft Power Platform
  • Experience with the migration of existing business solutions from older technology to PowerApps
  • Knowledge of establishing Power Platform environments, users, licenses, capacity management, and backup policies
  • Established strong PowerApps practices and strategies to optimize performance, security, and scalability across a large organisation
  • Communication with a range of people from different backgrounds and developing strong relationships with all levels of the organisation, experience capturing business problems and understanding how technology can be used to solve them
  • Working with technology suppliers in an agile approach
  • Experience of dealing with multiple concurrent issues and the ability to prioritise appropriately in line with delivery and business priorities
  • Experience working with multi-disciplinary teams, including internal/external stakeholders

Responsibilities:

The Power Platform Developer will be responsible for working with business stakeholders from service areas and Technology and Digital Services to design, to build and deliver a series of high-quality solutions to support the adoption of PowerApps across the organisation.
The role will be responsible for scoping, designing, developing, and maintaining solutions utilising Microsoft Power Platform and the Modern Data Platform, having a tangible impact on services function, ultimately improving the lives of local residents.
This role has been created to develop a Digital Contract Management System for Children and Adults Commissioning and will need to work closely alongside the Children and Adults Systems Team (ChAd) to ensure the finished solution can transition to business as usual maintenance and management within the team.
This post has no management responsibilities, as Project management of this piece of work will sit with a separate project manager.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work closely with council service areas to identify issues, current challenges and use power platform technologies to propose solutions for effective decision making, leading on workshops and stakeholder engagement
  • Act as the product owner and provide support to council staff and IT colleagues in use of Power Apps, Power Bi and the council’s Modern Data Platform
  • Identify, design and build solutions to grow the council’s use of Power Apps.
  • Provide best practice advice and support in relation to the use of Power Platform technologies, being an SME
