QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in power system engineering or related roles.
  • Proficiency in power system analysis software such as PSS/E, PowerWorld, or ETAP.
  • Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles, including power generation, transmission, distribution, and protection.
  • Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations governing power system design and operation.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with a demonstrated ability to analyse complex technical issues and propose effective solutions.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and interact professionally with clients and stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Designs and analyses power systems for energy generation, transmission, and distribution applications.
  • Conducts feasibility studies and technical assessments to evaluate the performance and reliability of power system configurations.
  • Develops detailed engineering designs and specifications for power system components, including generators, transformers, switchgear, and protection systems.
  • Performs modeling and simulation of power systems using specialized software tools to assess system behaviour and performance under various operating conditions.
  • Provides technical support and guidance to project teams during the planning, construction, and commissioning phases of energy projects.
  • Collaborates with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards for power system design and operation.
  • Conducts root cause analysis and troubleshooting of power system issues, implementing corrective actions and preventive measures as needed.
  • Participates in the development of long-term strategic plans for the expansion and optimization of our client’s power infrastructure.
  • Stays abreast of emerging technologies and best practices in power system engineering, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and innovation projects.
  • Communicates technical concepts and recommendations effectively to colleagues, clients, and stakeholders through written reports, presentations, and meetings.
