QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of power systems principles, including generation, transmission, and distribution.
  • Proficiency in power systems analysis tools such as PSS/E, PSCAD, or DigSilent.
  • Experience with programming languages such as Python, MATLAB, or R for data analysis and modeling.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct detailed analysis of power systems data to assess network performance and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain sophisticated models to simulate power system behaviour under various operating conditions.
  • Perform power system studies to evaluate the impact of planned projects and changes on network reliability and stability.
  • Monitor network operations in real-time, identifying and addressing issues to ensure uninterrupted energy supply.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop strategies for optimising network performance and enhancing system resilience.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports, presentations, and technical documentation to communicate findings and recommendations effectively.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams to implement innovative solutions for improving energy network efficiency and sustainability.
  • Utilise power systems analysis tools and programming languages for data analysis, modeling, and visualisation.
  • Provide technical expertise and support for energy network planning and development projects.
  • Conduct training sessions and workshops to enhance the understanding of power systems concepts and analysis techniques.
  • Stay abreast of industry developments and best practices in power systems analysis and apply relevant knowledge to enhance network performance.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of processes and procedures related to power systems analysis and network optimisation.
