QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of power systems principles, including generation, transmission, and distribution.
- Proficiency in power systems analysis tools such as PSS/E, PSCAD, or DigSilent.
- Experience with programming languages such as Python, MATLAB, or R for data analysis and modeling.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct detailed analysis of power systems data to assess network performance and identify improvement opportunities.
- Develop and maintain sophisticated models to simulate power system behaviour under various operating conditions.
- Perform power system studies to evaluate the impact of planned projects and changes on network reliability and stability.
- Monitor network operations in real-time, identifying and addressing issues to ensure uninterrupted energy supply.
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop strategies for optimising network performance and enhancing system resilience.
- Prepare comprehensive reports, presentations, and technical documentation to communicate findings and recommendations effectively.
- Participate in cross-functional teams to implement innovative solutions for improving energy network efficiency and sustainability.
- Utilise power systems analysis tools and programming languages for data analysis, modeling, and visualisation.
- Provide technical expertise and support for energy network planning and development projects.
- Conduct training sessions and workshops to enhance the understanding of power systems concepts and analysis techniques.
- Stay abreast of industry developments and best practices in power systems analysis and apply relevant knowledge to enhance network performance.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of processes and procedures related to power systems analysis and network optimisation.
