REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in power system engineering or related role.
  • Strong proficiency in power system analysis tools such as PSS/E, PSCAD, and MATLAB.
  • In-depth knowledge of power system dynamics, stability, and control.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities:

  • Conducting detailed power system analysis, including dynamic modeling and transient stability studies.
  • Monitoring and analysing the performance of the power system, identifying potential risks and opportunities for optimization.
  • Developing and implementing strategies to enhance the reliability and efficiency of the electricity grid.
  • Collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders to drive innovation and implement best practices.
  • Providing technical expertise and support for the planning and operation of the power system.
  • Evaluating and recommending advanced control strategies to improve voltage stability and reactive power control.
  • Conducting fault analysis and developing contingency plans to mitigate risks to the power system.
  • Supporting the integration of renewable energy sources into the power grid, including wind and solar generation.
  • Performing system-wide studies to assess the impact of new generation and transmission infrastructure.
  • Developing and maintaining models of power system components using industry-standard software tools.
  • Participating in industry working groups and technical forums to stay abreast of latest developments and trends.
  • Providing mentorship and guidance to junior engineers and team members.
  • Contributing to the development of technical reports, presentations, and regulatory submissions.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards, regulations, and safety guidelines.
  • Continuously seeking opportunities for process improvement and optimization within the power system engineering team.
