YURIKA ARE LOOKING FOR A POWER SYSTEMS ENGINEER WITH EXPERIENCE IN POWER STUDIES AND SIMULATIONS ACROSS RENEWABLES AND/OR POWER GENERATION.

Even if you haven’t heard of Energy Queensland (EQL) you might know our operational brands - Energex, Ergon Energy Network, Ergon Energy Retail and Yurika. As a group, we are growing rapidly and as part of the Queensland Energy and Jobs Plan (QEJP), actively helping to advance the energy transition towards net zero.
100% owned by the state of Queensland, Yurika has a national footprint working across all areas of energy, connectivity, and sustainability. It’s an exciting time to join us, as we advance towards net zero.

Responsibilities:

Yurika has a permanent opportunity for a Power Systems Engineer with experience in power system studies and simulations across renewables and/or conventional power generation and is inviting applications from internal and external applicants. The opportunity is open to any major EQL location with Townsville or Brisbane as preference to enhance collaboration within the team to learn and develop together.
The Power Systems Engineer sits within the wider Engineering & Design team and is supported by a smaller team of Grid Connection specialists with plenty of experience across the Power Generation and Transmission sector. You, along with the existing team, will be responsible for the delivery of connection studies in PSS/E, PSCAD and PowerFactory for new generation infrastructure connections to the NEM.
What does this look like day to day?
You will be completing modelling that can be connected to AEMO grid models, building simulation models and simulation studies to ensure generation projects and their connections comply with the performance requirements of the National Electricity Rules. You will be providing fit-for-purpose concept designs for proposed new connection projects, and modelling support for the design of HV substation and line projects.
With flexi-working and a 9 or 10 day fortnight in place, the salary band is from $140,751 to $161,746 for 9 days and $159 049 to $182,774 for 10 days +12.75% superannuation.
