REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Proven experience in power systems analysis, preferably in the renewable energy sector.
- Proficiency in software tools such as PSS/E, PSCAD, and MATLAB for power system modeling and analysis.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Knowledge of grid codes, standards, and regulations related to renewable energy integration.
- Certification or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) is desirable.
Responsibilities:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design and analyse power systems for renewable energy projects, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
- Conduct studies to assess grid integration challenges and develop solutions to mitigate risks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimise the performance of renewable energy assets, including wind farms and solar installations.
- Provide technical expertise and support during project development, construction, and operation phases.
- Perform power flow, transient stability, and fault analysis using software tools such as PSS/E, PSCAD, and MATLAB.
- Develop control strategies and algorithms to enhance the stability and efficiency of renewable energy systems.
- Evaluate and recommend improvements to grid infrastructure to accommodate increased renewable energy penetration.
- Conduct feasibility studies for new renewable energy projects, assessing technical and economic viability.
- Monitor and analyse real-time data from renewable energy assets to optimise performance and troubleshoot issues.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in power systems engineering, and implement relevant advancements.
- Prepare technical reports, presentations, and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to their professional development within the organisation.
