Assoc Quality Ops Spec assigned to Corporate Quality organization are responsible for implementation of Quality activities within the area of Quality Planning, Performance Measurement, Quality Assessments, Quality Surveillance. Reports directly to the Quality Ops Spec /Project / Fabrication Shop Quality Managers in addition to the Area Quality Managers
Responsibilities:
PPL Inspection Tech are responsible for Corporate Quality Management activities supporting Area and Project Quality personnel in Quality planning, Auditing, Assessments, Performance Measurement and Reporting, providing support to Project Quality personnel in the deployment of Quality Systems and Tools, Root Cause Analysis and tracking of corrective and preventive actions.
Responsibilities include:
- Carry out quality assessment measures of all the products during painting, galvanizing, Fireproofing and insulation applications.
- Perform/witness painting, galvanizing, fireproofing and insulation materials receiving inspection at shop, subcontractor’s premises and assembly yards as per project requirements/ inspection and test plan (ITP).
- Perform/Witness coating activities at subcontractor and assembly yard premises.
- Perform/Witness coating adhesion test and holiday test activities and fabrication shop, subcontractor’s and assembly yard.
- Perform/Witness repairing and touch up inspection prior to hand over.
- Prepare & review documentation of the inspection process, which includes detailed blasting & painting, galvanizing, fireproofing and insulation report.
- Verifying tests as required on all components and completed assemblies.
- Notify and monitor the calibration of coating inspection instruments.
- Send notification for customer’s inspection through DCC (Witness, Hold points) as per approved ITP’s
- Monitor operations to ensure that they meet project specification.
Qualifications:
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years QC Quality Controls experience in module fabrication assembly
Skills and Behaviors:
- Experience in steel, piping vessel fabrication and welding with knowledge in industrial code & standard e.g. AWS, ASME, ISO 9000 quality management system quality audit experiences are advantage.
- Knowledge of dimensional testing, reading drawings and project specifications.
- Computer proficiency with working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products, including Word, Excel, Power Point and Visio.
- Awareness in Quality Management System Standards such as ISO9001:2015
- Participating in performing Root Cause Analysis
- Understanding of Quality Management System Requirements.
- Ability to review CB&I Management System documents in line with CMS governance documents.
- Interfacing with Area Operations Management to align area improvement initiatives with business objectives.
- Must have strong interpersonal skills to work with other departments in a tactful and effective manner.
