Description:

The opportunity has arisen for new Pre-Registration Pharmacy Technicians (PRPT) to join our pharmacy team based at Prospect Park Hospital in Reading where the working hours are Monday-Friday 9am-5pm.
You must have a minimum of five GCSEs at grade A-C/9-4, including Mathematics, English and Science qualifications. Previous experience of working within a pharmacy setting would be desirable.
You will need to be self-motivated, organised, able to work efficiently, to deadlines and be able to work under pressure at times. While learning the practical skills that Pharmacy Technicians require you will also undertake and complete the Pre-Registration Pharmacy Technician qualification starting in September 2024. Completing this qualification will enable you to apply for registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council as a qualified Pharmacy Technician.
On completion of the PRPT apprenticeship and registration with the GPhC there is the opportunity to continue employment for a further fixed year whereby consolidation of the last two apprenticeship years will be put into practice.
You will complete the Certificate of Higher Education in Pharmacy Technician Practice apprenticeship over the course of 24 months.
You will be able to spend time completing rotations within all areas of our department
You will spend time working on mental health wards and/or community health wards to be able to complete ward-based learning for the apprenticeship.
You will be expected to participate in the late duty rota whereby the hours are 10-6pm.
You will take part in departmental training sessions to develop your training/learning objectives and develop leadership skills.
You will also take part in the appraisal process and engage in regular 1:1 meeting with your line manager and college tutors/assessors as part of your on-going development.
