Become a connected Pre-Sales Engineer!
The Pre-Sales Engineer will provide quality pre-sales technical support to the eStruxture sales organization. The successful candidate will be interacting with clients and supports sales reps and sales management as well as interacting with the DC Operations team to ensure that the customer’s needs match the capabilities and specifications of our facilities. The Pre-Sales Engineer qualifies sales opportunities, resolves all technical issues arising from the sales engagement, helps clients define specifications and requirements, and presents technical information to small and large audiences. Finally, the Pre-Sales Engineer is also responsible for training sales reps on eStruxture products and solutions, this role reports directly to the SVP, Strategy and Business Operations.

Your contribution

The duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Provide technical support to both internal sales reps and external customers
  • Attend sales and customer calls, over the phone and in-person
  • Develop technical responses and strategy for RFIs and RFPs
  • Administer technical training and guidance to sales reps and management
  • Provide customer advocacy for all post-sale implementation issues until resolved
  • Responsible for the seamless transition for sales close to provisioning
  • Ensure correct technical content of all customer orders
  • Design customer technical solutions with engineering diagrams
  • Understand and convey technical advantages of eStruxture services

Working Conditions
The role has standard working conditions in an office environment with a regular workweek from Monday to Friday. Due to the nature of the role, the incumbent must be able to meet tight deadlines, handle pressure and manage stress. The role requires minimal travel (25%) to advance initiatives and visit team members across Canada.
The profile we are looking for

Experience

  • 5+ years experience working in a colocation – either as a pre-sales engineer, DC operator or technician, or an end user
  • Strong understanding and the ability to communicate the requirements / features of data center systems, including electrical and mechanical infrastructure, fire suppression, physical security and networking
  • Possess knowledge of cloud solutions development and enterprise solutions
  • Background in IT consulting or related field.

Education/Certification/Designation

  • Bachelor’s or technical degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Cloud related certifications (AWS, Google, Azure) with 5-8 years industry experience*
  • Any designation for these above would be considered as an asset

Competencies

  • Ability to demonstrate thought leadership in application infrastructure and architecture, cloud computing and become a trusted advisor to technical and business decision makers.
  • Deep understanding of power and cooling concepts and technologies
  • Understands contributing/associated cloud applications in architecture and platform including security, storage, transport, and project management.
  • Business acumen. Understands deal margin to support sales negotiation.
  • Ability to engage in both tactical hands-on work and strategic work as needed to manage and complete priorities.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Technical Skills/Knowledge

  • Knowledge and experience with enterprise – understand their pain points, use cases for Cloud and AI, purchasing processes.
  • General knowledge of Microsoft Office, NetSuite, provisioning information systems.
  • Demonstrate excellent client facing skills.
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills and strong written and oral communication.
  • Be innovative, a strong leader with a strategic mindset and the know how to execute and achieve results.
  • Have a proven pipeline development process for lead qualification and effective buy-cycle management to conversion.
