Description:

Exciting job opportunity for newly qualified psychologists interested in preceptorship roles and/or Senior Clinical Psychologists.
Psychology is positively valued within this large and thriving trust, with psychologists working in a broad range of services. There is an effective network between these psychologists that is hugely supportive and which is organised for continued professional development between specialities as well as for consultation and supervision of complex cases. That network meets, as a whole, on a monthly basis and there are other network meetings such as the newly qualified and assistants’ groups, the principal psychologist development programme, the psychology research group and various special interest groups. You will be managed by psychologists in this post (as is most typically the case for psychologists working in NHFT).
We are advertising this rotational post which offers the unusual opportunity to have the security of a permanent contract, whilst moving between different specialisms. This approach to managing temporary vacancies (such as maternity leave) has been successful both from the point of view of the services concerned and the post-holders. This post begins with a split role covering services for people with Learning Disabilities and our Looked After Children’s Mental Health Team.
Both teams have a reputation for providing a supportive and safe base, and also enjoy positive relationships with MDT colleagues. The two teams are also located on the same corridor and have built a positive joint pathway together.
Complex psychological assessments, formulations and interventions with people with Learning Disabilities, Looked After Children and/or their support networks.
Clinical supervision of and providing consultation to staff. Contributing to and/or leading service development, including those service developments focused on staff well-being.
We are happy to talk with you about your interests in research, including providing protected research time, and to also consider how to support your CPD interests. We regularly fund training courses for psychologists.
NHFT is an integrated primary care and mental health Trust, providing physical, mental health and specialty services in both hospital settings and in the community. Since we put the person at the centre of all we do, we focus on delivering care that is as easy to access as possible. This means many of our services can be provided at home, work or in schools. We also provide health services to various prisons and detention centres in Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire.
We are looking for dynamic individuals who are passionate about psychological approaches. You will need to be highly motivated and attuned to interpersonal processes. A person-centred perspective is vital, and a reflective approach is essential.
For further information on the advertised role, please refer to the job description located under the Supporting Documents heading. The full person specification can be accessed under the ‘About You’ Section of the document.
