Water / Waste Water projects (Water Treatment Plants, Pumping Stations, Water Assets)
Ideal opportunity for an already experienced Preconstruction Manager or a Bid Manager looking for promotion.

REQUIREMENTS:

To be considered for this Preconstruction Manager role you must meet the following criteria:

  • Ideally previous Water sector experience, alternatively experience working in other civil engineering or highways sectors may be considered transferable.
  • Previous employment as a Bid Manager or Preconstruction Manager.
  • Extensive site experience, comprehensive pre-construction experience – bid writing/ submissions.
  • Previous Main Contractor employment.
  • High level of communication skills.
  • Ideally a relevant construction industry qualification (Degree / HND / HNC etc).

Responsibilities:

ROLE:

As Preconstruction Manager you will lead on tender bids on the South West Water Framework, taking responsibility for the projects from inception to contract award.

DUTIES:

As Preconstruction Manager your duties will include:

  • Liaise with the Estimating Team to ensure timeframes are achieved for the technical and commercial elements of bids.
  • Take the lead on tenders with the SWW representatives establishing win strategies and key client drivers for selection.
  • Lead in tender bid settlements with the appropriate grade of director personnel who can sign off bids.
  • Work within a small pre-construction team based within the SWW Framework Team liaising with the construction delivery teams prior to contract award.
  • Liaise with design managers or lead the pre-construction design process depending on the project size and complexity.
  • Liaising with other teams – Managing Estimator & Estimating team, Construction delivery teams, Design Managers, Planning Manager.

-Lead bids and take responsibility for - client liaison during bid, technical bid submissions, lead bid settlement meetings with appropriate director.
