Description:

The Integrity and Quality Management Department within Energy Assets Services is crucial in supporting Uniper’s existing portfolio of generation assets to facilitate Uniper’s green transformation strategy. The Department consists of four complimentary teams and provides vital technical support for the Uniper asset fleet. This support focuses on Design and Integrity Management of new and existing pressure systems, Quality Assurance during construction, installation and overhaul, regulatory conformance with Pressure Systems Safety Regulations, provision of Materials expertise and coordination of Non-Destructive Testing. This role will offer you the opportunity to develop and work on a diverse range of technical issues across the department alongside knowledgeable and experienced engineers. You will be fully involved in maintaining our existing assets and preparing for delivery and integration of the low carbon energy sector of the future. Responsibilities:

  • You will work with experienced engineers from Mechanical, Non-Destructive Testing, Materials, and Welding Engineering disciplines on topics such as:
  • Pressure system component design and modification
  • On-site integrity assessment and inspection of in-service components
  • In-manufacture assessment of pressure equipment and associated components for compliance to specified requirements
  • Technical resolution of in-service, emergent issues
  • Failure analysis through process, metallurgical and operational data reviews
  • Assessment of Non-Destructive Testing results including advanced methods (PAUT, TOFD)
  • On-site outage management of pressure system inspections
  • Initially, you will be supporting experienced engineers in the following, with the expectation of eventually becoming responsible for their delivery:
  • Developing integrity-based assessment strategies for management of pressure systems.
  • Providing technical recommendations to the asset operation and maintenance teams on continuing compliance to regulatory and international standards
  • Providing quality assurance inspection and supervision on site for works carried out by contractors.
  • Producing technical reports to statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • You will have the opportunity to provide remote and on-site support to the wider Uniper international assets including those in Germany, the Netherlands and Sweden.
  • You will be required to travel to various off-site locations within the UK and possibly Europe, with the possibility of short-term placements at other Uniper locations within the first 18 months.
