POSITION SUMMARY

CIMCO Refrigeration has a permanent full-time position available immediately within the Manufacturing Group. Manufactured products include pressure vessels, electrical control systems, and packaged industrial refrigeration systems. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual looking for a challenging position. You will have the opportunity to apply your current skills, and develop new ones.
As a member of the Vessel Engineering Group, you will work alongside other designers and engineers. You will also collaborate with cross-functional teams such as other engineering disciplines, quality control, production planning, and procurement. As a member of the CIMCO Manufacturing division, the successful candidate is expected to work from the office full time, and provide daily support on the shop floor.

REQUIRED PROFESSIONAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering, (Registered P.Eng.)
  • 5+ years’ experience with engineering responsibilities in pressure vessel design.
  • Previous exposure to manufacturing processes.
  • Strong knowledge of ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code Section VIII Division 1 and other design codes such as API, NACE, CSA etc.
  • Knowledge of COMPRESS pressure vessel design software would be an asset.
  • Thorough knowledge and experience with both AutoCAD and Solid Works is a must.
  • Experienced in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and SharePoint.
  • Ability to work alone or in a team and accept responsibility for the work performed
  • Ability to schedule work, deal with conflicts and meet deadlines
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Produce the mechanical design calculations of pressure vessels.
  • Ensure designs comply with ASME Code, industry standards and client specifications.
  • Utilize 3D software and 2D CAD software to develop fabrication drawings, Bill of Material, weld maps and general arrangement drawings for customer’s approval.
  • Check and approve other team members’ deliverables.
  • Approve engineering drawings for shop fabrication as required.
  • Complete registration documentation as required
  • Provide production team with support to resolve design and fabrication issues to ensure efficient execution of vessel fabrication.
  • Troubleshoot issues with production to develop innovative and cost-effective solutions
  • Develop and revise weld procedures as required.
  • Apply Engineer’s Seal to CRN submission drawings to Canadian Jurisdictions and communicate directly with same to obtain registration.
