JOB SUMMARY:

In the role of being a Pricing and Data Scientist at chargEV, you will be pivotal in transforming the company into the region’s most engaging and customer-centric e-mobility charging platform and infrastructure player through data-driven decisions.
This role will be working across a variety of projects within chargEV. You will be responsible for conducting market research to understand industry trends, competitor pricing and customer preferences, providing insights to guide strategic decisions.
This role is not confined to just in Malaysia but to assist in our expansion regionally, whereby you are expected to research and model macro-economic trends using various 3rd party data in different countries to aid in our regional expansion goals.
This role is about more than data analytics, it’s about using data and insights in creating an unparalleled user experience that is seamless and frictionless that sets chargEV apart as a leader in the electric vehicle industry. SKILLS & EXPERIENCES:

  • Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, Actuarial Science or related discipline
  • Minimum 2 years of experience of using Data Science or Machine Learning models to solve complex business problems
  • Proficiency in Excel, SQL, Python, R and/or other Data Science Languages.
  • Mapping and managing multiple datasets
  • Ideally to have experience sourcing and working on external data sets
  • Exhibits strong commercial acumen and willingness to innovate and create.
  • Experience of data visualisation tools (eg: Power BI)
  • Have experience working on pricing models, postpaid, prepaid, subscription and/or loyalty programs.
  • First class understanding of classical analytical techniques, e.g. statistical modelling, regression
  • Experience delivering insight models such as RFM, Churn, Propensity / recommendation engines
  • Demonstrated experience in building and deploying machine learning models Familiarity with frameworks such as TensorFlow, Keras, or PyTorch is advantageous.
  • Knowledge and exposure to cloud analytics platform such as AWS, Azure and/or Databricks
  • Familiarity with Agile/ Scrum methodology
  • Using project management tools such as Jira
  • Ability to work on multiple projects in parallel, in constantly changing and multi-cultural environment
  • Strong command of English with excellent communication and presentation skills

Responsibilities:

  • Market Research: Conduct market research to understand industry trends, competitor pricing, and customer preferences, providing insights to guide strategic decisions.
  • Market Elasticity: Analyse price elasticity of demand to understand how changes in pricing affect customer behaviour and charging station usage across SEA markets.
  • Pricing Analysis: Analyse and evaluate pricing strategies for our charging stations, identifying opportunities for optimization and revenue maximization.
  • Dynamic Pricing: Experiment with different pricing frameworks across channels to grow the business. Develop and implement dynamic pricing models to adjust prices based on real-time demand, usage patterns, and market conditions across SEA markets.
  • Market Growth Forecast: Develop market growth forecasts in SEA markets to support strategic planning and expansion efforts.
  • Data Analysis: Perform detailed data analysis to support business objectives, including usage patterns, demand forecasting, and review existing revenue streams in preparing price lists for current and upcoming charging stations.
  • Data Collection and Management: Assist the Lead Data Scientist in implementing ETL processes to establish a centralized database as a single source of truth.
  • Reporting and Visualization: Create clear and concise reports and dashboards to present findings and recommendations to the Lead Data Scientist and other stakeholders in Power BI.
  • Presentation: To present, describe and explain analysis in a usable, insightful format that is readily understandable to non-technical, non-statistical clients and colleagues.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Lead Data Scientist and other team members to support various data-driven projects and initiatives. Able to liaise effectively with various departments/personnel to obtain accurate information in order to construct an accurate pricing structure.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for process improvement and implement best practices in data analysis and pricing strategies.
