QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/JOB REQUIREMENTS (ABOUT YOU):

  • 5+ years of progressive relevant experience with emphasis on reporting development, financial planning and analysis, business analytics, and financial modeling. A university graduate or post-graduate with strong academic credentials may also be considered, provided that these credentials are demonstrable and are directly applicable to the role.
  • Post-Secondary Degree/Diploma in a related or relevant field
  • Bachelor’s Degree specializing in Accounting, Business, Finance or Supply Chain Management is preferred
  • Knowledge of database design and management
  • Advanced Excel skills (e.g. pivot tables, graphing, data connections, and automation using macros and VBA)
  • Strong PowerPoint skills
  • Strong Cognos skills is an asset.
  • Competency in writing and executing data queries using SQL, Python, etc.
  • Strong quantitative problem solver who can structure complex issues and interpret large data sets comfortably.

Responsibilities:

ROLE:

This position will work with Category Leads and analytical teams to build, test strategies that support the overall profitability of Sysco’s supply chain. This includes, but is not limited to, areas such as procurement modeling, cost of goods (COGs), logistics, margin components, and pricing. This position will also facilitate item setup as well as maintain pricing/program details for Sysco’s Corporate Billed Vendor platform and will also facilitate the migration of vendors onto this platform.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Recommend strategy and execute analysis for national costing/pricing structures
  • Create/utilize analytics to design the logic for creating and optimizing AP cost scenarios; test logic and work with Category teams to check and revise (e.g., tradeoffs between Market Relevant Price, sales, and overall profitability)
  • Data mine current and competitive pricing across Sysco’s Canadian enterprise
  • Develop/test/check additional analyses (e.g., deviations analysis, exclusions)
  • Create/size short term promotions to drive profitable sales
  • Refine analyses and go deep on specific topics as needed
  • Work with the Category Managers, Sourcing Managers, and colleagued Analysts to support continuity of the 6-step Category Management process
  • Maintain correct PO costing and cost files for all applicable Corporate Billed Vendors and Sysco Sites.
  • Perform price quotations for Sysco Sites.
  • Execute business strategies and execute detailed analysis for national and regional costing and pricing strategies.
  • Use independent data sources (Comtell, CME, Mintec, etc.) to verify trends in various commodity markets, correlate the market trends to specific SKU COGs, and perform analysis on price strategies
  • Manage reporting to track costing and pricing decisions in the sites
  • Develop ideas and tools to improve usability of reporting
  • Complies with Sysco’s Food Safety Policy and procedures to ensure food safety, quality and legality requirements are met.
  • Is willing to work safely with minimal environmental impact and understands the importance of reporting all hazards, incidents, and environmental spills immediately to their Supervisor.
  • Understands that they play an integral role in their own safety and that of their colleagues and is willing to speak out when hazards are present.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
