The Opportunity
As a prominent leader in the renewable energy sector, CPP are seeking a skilled and experienced Electrical Engineer with Procurement experience of HV primary equipment, in a rare opportunity to pioneer this brand new role to the business as we embark on groundbreaking projects to shape the future of clean energy.
As CPP’s subject matter expert for primary equipment, you will spearhead the development and implementation of strategic procurement initiatives for high-voltage renewable infrastructure projects. This is a technical role that will encompass the entire business from an engineering perspective but also have some interaction with the procurement team in driving supplier selection and ensuring the acquisition of high-quality equipment for primary and secondary systems.
Your expertise will be instrumental in propelling our projects to new heights whilst delivering a sustainable energy future.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Lead the technical component of the strategic procurement process for renewable energy projects, driving innovation and efficiency.
  • Assist the Procurement team in the identification and engagement of a diverse range of suppliers, fostering strong partnerships.
  • Assist the Procurement team in the technical components of the development and implementation of robust procurement strategies aligned with project timelines and budgets.
  • Write and manage technical specifications (template, and project specific) for low and high voltage electrical equipment, up to 500kV.
  • Manage the technical review of documentation derived from the supply chain process, including coordination with suppliers and review, and witnessing of supplier testing.
  • Collaborate with the wider engineering team to ensure procured equipment and materials meet quality standards and project specifications.

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL POSSESS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and registered with Engineers Australia
  • 7+ years total experience, including strong experience with equipment manufacturers providing plant to utilities or renewable generation facilities (e.g., transformers, circuit breakers)
  • Exposure to procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management, preferably in a contracting organisation delivering EPC contracts in the renewable energy, utility, or power generation industry.
  • Strong understanding and knowledge of the design, specification, and testing components of the manufacturing process
  • Willingness to undertake interstate and overseas travel
