QUALIFICATIONS FOR INTERNAL CANDIDATES

  • A civil engineering degree or equivalent
  • Membership of a relevant professional body
  • Obtained or working towards Chartered Engineer Professional status
  • Proven ability to lead and manage project teams and individuals
  • Traffic Engineering, active travel and highway design experience
  • The ability to prioritise, to achieve deadlines and to work with minimal supervision.
  • Good spoken and written communication skills. With the ability to liaise with others including public sector officials, members of the public and other senior colleagues

Responsibilities:

We are seeking a Principal Engineer or Associate to be based out of our London office.

  • Work directly with our clients to achieve their sustainable transport needs
  • Acting as Project Manager and Design Lead on a wide range of projects whilst helping to grow and develop our work with clients
  • Acting as a Line Manager for people in Liveable Places
  • Significant traffic engineering experience with desirable experience in highway design, active travel design and public realm design.
  • Preparing and reviewing reports, drawings, schedules and other documents in accordance with local procedures and guidance
  • Being responsible for the financial performance of projects
  • Undertaking technical review and checking of design deliverables within the team
  • Work collaboratively with the Liveable Places team and our colleagues in the wider Transport team and the wider WSP business to achieve our aims and objectives
