Fortescue are seeking a Principal Business Analyst - Energy with a passion for people and leading teams to success. You will be responsible for leading the Energy Operations Reporting & Forecasting team, developing, and maintaining reports & forecasting models, and providing commercial and financial analysis support as required.
You will ensure stakeholder requirements are met and create value by extracting insights from performance reporting and providing commercial and financial analysis related to energy. The Principal Business Analyst role contributes to the overall Strategic Planning team by overseeing the reporting and forecasting cycles and ensuring high quality and accuracy of work.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Proven experience in a leadership role with a passion for coaching and people development
- Degree in a relevant field (e.g., business, finance, economics, engineering)
- Significant business analyst or consulting experience in a similar role within mining or energy industry
- Track record of delivering detailed quantitative analysis using advanced Excel capabilities
- Experience with commercial and financial modelling
- Experience with contracts analysis & negotiation support (preferably in the energy industry)
- Advanced Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills
- Experience with PowerBi would be advantageous
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Responsibilities:
- Safe and effective leadership of a team including the coaching, mentoring and development of all
- Ensure continuous development of models & reports whilst supporting the team to deliver timely and high-quality reports with relevant insights
- Work with various stakeholders to deliver the quarterly re-forecast process and ensure provided insights are relevant
- Maintain an understanding of current & prospective PPAs – support negotiations with commercial and contract analysis
- Develop and maintain commercial and financial models to support ad hoc analysis of projects, PPAs, and other.
- Develop new reports to meet the evolving needs of the Energy Operations department
- Develop and maintain the mine site cost allocation methodologies.Focus on continuous improvement strategies and implementation to ensure production improvements are delivered
