The infrastructure pipeline in South Australia continues to grow, with AECOM playing an influential role in the design and delivery of several key projects across the region. As such, we are looking for a Principal Civil Engineer to join our team in Adelaide to work on projects in the Defence, roads and rail transport projects, mining, and renewable energy markets.
Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • As a Principal Engineer within the team, you will be in involved in managing and delivering local and national projects throughout the whole lifecycle – from front end strategy and planning, to detailed design and delivery.
  • Assist in the delivery of projects, across a variety of market sectors, communicating effectively with internal and external stakeholders. Be responsible for mentoring and guiding junior engineers, designers and drafters whilst collaborating across engineering disciplines and groups within AECOM.
  • Utilise your extensive Civil Engineering experience to contribute to designs and delivery of projects across a variety of markets.
  • Be responsible and accountable for the projects you are working on whilst operating in a client-facing position to enhance AECOM’s presence with existing and new clients. Ensure that quality assurance processes are followed and that projects are delivered on time, on budget and to a high standard.
  • Use and develop your project leadership/design management skills and be an influential member of the project team and office culture.
    Qualifications

    What are we looking for from you?
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a broad background in general civil design including roads, water, wastewater, drainage across a range of markets (defence and local transport infrastructure preferred)
  • CPEng; or working towards
  • Experience in delivering Civil projects in a multi-disciplinary consultancy environment demonstrating exceptional communication skills and technical knowledge.
  • Project management experience including seeking opportunities from clients, submitting proposals, and project and design management for civil engineering projects.
  • Track record in exercising sound engineering judgement whilst contributing and leading the design and development of engineering solutions.
  • A passion for Civil Engineering across various markets and disciplines.
