Description:

We are looking for a adaptable scientist to join our team. We have a large team of Healthcare Scientists across all levels, and have a proven track record of provision of training and investing in staff to fulfil their career ambitions. Radiation Physics provides expert advice on diagnostic radiology, non-ionising physics, nuclear medicine physics, radiation protection and radioactive waste management to the Trust and a number of healthcare organisations in the public and private sector across Kent, London and South East England.
You will provide expert scientific and technical advice in non-ionising radiation and diagnostic radiology physics to the Trust and other healthcare providers. They will also be responsible for the development of our non-ionising radiation quality assurance programs.
It is envisaged that you will spend approximately 60% of your time supporting our non-ionising radiation service and 40% in diagnostic radiology physics.
Appointment at Band 7 for candidate with HCPC registration but no MPE will be considered.
You will need to be a clear communicator, organised and flexible because you will be providing expert radiation physics advice and services to a multiplicity of users across a number of organisations - all with competing priorities.
You will specialise in non-ionising radiation and diagnostic radiology but you will also be supported to qualify as an RPA if this is something you would like to do.
We encourage applicants with less experience to apply as training may be provided, subject to an amended job description and banding.
You will join a friendly, supportive, multi-disciplinary team of scientific, clinical and technical experts working across the Trust and with other healthcare organisations to provide a comprehensive radiation physics service.
We are accredited as a workplace provider for HSST and would welcome applicants interested in joining this program.
Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust is a large acute hospital Trust in the county of Kent.
The Trust provides a full range of general hospital services and some areas of specialist complex care to around 760,000 people living in the south part of West Kent and the north part of East Sussex.
The Trust’s core catchment areas are Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells and their surrounding boroughs. We work from two main clinical sites: Maidstone Hospital and Tunbridge Wells Hospital at Pembury. Tunbridge Wells Hospital opened in 2011 and provides single rooms with en-suites for all in-patients – the first of its kind in the country.
We employ more than 7,000 full and part-time staff in a huge range of clinical and non-clinical roles across both of our hospital sites.
Would you like to work flexibly? In the NHS, we are reminded every day of how important life is. As a flexible working friendly organisation, we want to be sure that you can work in a way that is best for us, for our patients and for you. Speak to us about how we might be able to accommodate a flexible working arrangement.
Once your pre-employment checks have been completed you will be contacted by Recruitment to arrange your start date which will be in line with one of our Corporate Inductions.
Please note that appointment to this post will be subject to a satisfactory Disclosure & Barring Service Check at Enhanced Level. (Enhanced level now includes regulated checks against vulnerable adults and children)
