Description:
Responsibilities:
This role is a Permanent position on a 9-day fortnight roster, DIDO to our Worsley Alumina Refinery, and our Boddington mine site.
As the Principal Communications, you will use broad industry experience to design, and execute communications activities that enhance Worsley Alumina’s reputation within its communities of influence while supporting high levels of engagement between the site leadership team and employees.
The role will involve:
- Designing innovative and engaging communication tools that foster a culture aligned to South32’s values.
- Execute internal and external communications activities to support effective engagement with employees and local communities.
- Working with the Vice President Operations and Worsley Leadership Team to develop a narrative that ties together the important operational initiatives in the Worsley Alumina Medium Term Plan.
- Fostering relationships with local media to proactively share Worsley’s contribution to the South West and Peel Regions.
Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:
- Leading the communications to embed a safety leadership culture that guarantees our people go home safe and well every shift.
- Develop and implement the Worsley Alumina communications strategy, inclusive of internal communications, external communications, community investment, stakeholder engagement, government engagement and liaison with relevant industry bodies/associations.
- Maintain oversight of communications activities across all operational locations including the Port (Bunbury), Refinery (Collie) and Mine (Boddington).
- Proactively engage with local media on positive press items and support group-wide website, social media, intranet, newsletter and sustainability reporting requirements.
