As a Principal Consultant, Construction Defect Practice , you will play a crucial role in establishing and integrity of the Envista Forensics brand and reputation; your work will be crucial to the success of Envista Forensics. You will be responsible for building key relationships with internal and external customers, ensuring Envista Forensics continues to build a reputation as a premier name in the Construction Defect arena.

Required Skills/Abilities/Experience:

  • Seven to ten+ years of work experience or combination of requisite experience in engineering, forensic engineering, construction, construction defect, and/or construction management field
  • Five+ years of experience in the field of forensic engineering.
  • Experience working with law firms and insurance companies
  • Previous testimony experience.
  • Sound written and oral communication skills, including skills in making client and public presentations.
  • Commitment to confidentiality and ability to discretely handle sensitive information.
  • Knowledge and application of Microsoft Office.
  • Safety mindset with the ability to foresee project risks associated with investigations.
  • Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle in a work capacity

Preferred Skills/Abilities

  • Advanced familiarity with Construction Defect laws and statutes
  • Previous publications and speaking engagements
  • Experience with commercial, and industrial facilitie

Education:

  • Baccalaureate degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management.
  • Professional Engineer, Registered Architect, or General Contractor’s licensure

Responsibilities:

  • Analyzes the failure of building systems, determines the cause of failures, evaluates the quality of construction or reviews design or maintenance procedures.
  • Performs field investigations, leads multi-party examinations and documentation of damaged or allegedly damaged property.
  • Provides deposition or expert testimony as a fact or expert witness.
  • Maintains established relationships with current clients and consultants.
  • Participates in and drives the development of White Papers, webinar content, internal/external articles, blog posts and promotional and educational seminars.
  • Interacts regularly with members of the business development, sales and marketing teams and stays abreast of trends in the industry. Participates as necessary in business development and marketing endeavors throughout the region and nationally
  • Assists with mentoring of junior experts including but not limited to performing peer reviews, assisting other experts on their files, and when applicable, bringing junior experts on the projects.

The pay range for this position in California is $150,000-175,000annually; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A sign-on bonus may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered. Base pay information is based on market location.
