Acumen Executive Search is partnering with a leading-edge, value-based national consultancy Industrial Fleet Management (IFM) to fill a new role: Principal Consultant – Leasing and Logistics for their small but mighty team.
This is an exciting opportunity for people who want to bring their analytical tools and client interface experience in logistics to design their role and help shepherd a growing and evolving organization. The Principal Consultant will work for a well-established company at the right-hand of a talented President.
The Principal Consultant will work both internally and externally to incorporate sharp analytics and proven best practices to continue to grow this exciting organization that has 50 years of experience identifying tens of millions of dollars in savings for clients ranging from Fortune 500s to small businesses.
The Organization
Industrial Fleet Management (IFM) is a leading leasing and logistics consultancy that helps organizations identify millions in cost savings each year. This 50-year-old company supports CEOs, CFOs, and COOs of Fortune 500s and smaller companies nationally to conduct fiscal analyses from re-negotiating lease contracts (between the lessor and the lessee), fleet invoice audits, fuel costs audits, utilization rates, and optimization rates as a long-term strategic partner.

If you:

  • Possess Logistics/Shipping Industry Experience with leasing experience a strong plus.
  • Have strong analytical capabilities and the ability to communicate/interpret results succinctly – knowledge of advanced functions in Excel, Access, and ERP / EPM systems.- Tableau a strong plus.
  • Have a proven track record of establishing trust and credibility quickly working with the highest levels of a client organization.
  • Are able to work independently and be self-motivated.
  • Are an effective project manager with the ability to keep projects on time and on budget.
  • Have industry relationships with companies that would benefit from IFM’s services.

THE POSITION

IFM is actively seeking a Principal Consultant to lead the growth of the organization by serving as a trusted advisor to organizations with large fleets and identifying substantial cost savings through analysis and trusted vendor relationships.

This opportunity involves up to 15-25% travel and includes a highly competitive salary and benefits package. The Principal Consultant will work from a home office and can be based anywhere in the U.S. (ideally the Midwest). The Principal Consultant will be a part of a team of consultants with a wealth of Logistics experience. Reporting to the President, the Principal Consultant will be responsible for:

  • Conducting fiscal analyses and developing valuable long-term client relationships.
  • Collaborating with clients at all levels (executives to shipping/logistics managers) as a trusted strategic advisor.
  • Analyzing Costs (primarily leasing and fuel)
  • Negotiating on clients’ behalf seeking win/win solutions.
  • Conducting fiscal reporting & cost savings analyses with client companies’ contracts and providing objective advice that satisfies their business goals.
  • Generating leads and/or add-on agreements to drive long-term IFM growth.
  • Managing relationships from initial conversations through the re-negotiation of agreements.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/ Experience

  • Hands-on knowledge of the logistics industry.
  • 5 - 7 years of progressively responsible experience in a finance-related or business consultant role with demonstrated success working with internal and/or external clients.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel & Access and experience with presenting findings within Excel or Access.
  • Experience and expertise with large-scale logistics/shipping lease agreements and language.
  • Hands-on financial analysis experience in a corporate or consulting environment, involved in leases and contracts. This experience may include, but not be limited to:
  • Engagement relationship development
  • Financial/cost analysis
  • Project management as part of a consulting engagement
