THE ROLE & THE TEAM

As a Principal Data Analytics Consultant in the central Data Analytics department, you will co-drive the simplification of the Zalando analytics tooling together with the respective engineering leadership. You will lead and drive the creation of data products, identifying problems worth solving and delivering against Zalando’s long-term vision. You will consult stakeholders in our solution stack, best practices and will suggest state-of-the-art analytical & engineering solutions. You create measurable customer value by defining and delivering solutions to problems with high to exceptional complexity, defining, managing roadmap and overseeing the product development phases end to end. As a team member to the Data Analytics Product Management, you get to move the needle in making the Zalando Data Strategy become a reality, fundamentally changing how Zalandos work with data.

WHAT WE’D LOVE YOU TO DO (AND LOVE DOING)

  • Define product strategy and drive product development with a clear vision and roadmap for our diverse tooling ecosystem within the Zalando Analytics Landscape
  • Lead the end-to-end product development lifecycle, from discovery to execution, with a customer-centric mindset supported by agile methodologies, to drive enhancements in user experience
  • Ensure the roadmaps align with the Data Product Area mission and goals, Zalando Data Strategy and overall Zalando Group Strategy
  • Understand and strive for a healthier data value chain, designing data products that adhere to the data strategy guiding principles as needed
  • Understand and interpret customer needs and requirements for data products and lead their adoption process
  • Collaborate effectively with various stakeholders to ensure alignment and obtain buy-in. Engage with senior business stakeholders and product managers from various departments within the organization, and work closely with data scientists, engineers, and others to meet target customer needs.
  • Define KPIs for your products, monitor success and iterate over time, implementing improvements based on insights and actively seeking user feedback.
  • Create adequate narrative to facilitate decision-making, communicate rationales and strategies and facilitate solution design.
  • Act as a coach and mentor to colleagues, promoting a culture of starting from the customer and working backwards.
