We are looking for an experienced " Principal Engineer - Infra Platforms " to join our Tech infrastructure team based in Sydney, this position has become available due to internal promotion. You’ll be responsible for ensuring that infrastructure platforms are designed, developed, deployed, and maintained in alignment with infrastructure capabilities and operational considerations. It requires collaboration with a large set of stakeholders across Infrastructure, Architecture and Development to ensure platforms run smoothly and are scalable in meeting application growth.

• Build, integrate and oversee infrastructure platforms and tooling that are highly maintainable, secure, and designed with quality and automated testing in mind.
• Oversee platform configuration management repositories and enhance our configuration management capabilities.
• Develop tools and automate processes to improve the infrastructure and operations team’s work efficiency.
• Help reduce IT delivery and infrastructure support costs by extending automation across infrastructure delivery, maintenance and operations Lead, coach, mentor and develop a team of UNIX platform experts.
• Drives engineering initiatives and lead the project delivery across the Tribes.

What we’re looking for

• Proficient in building and supporting Linux / windows-based Platforms in a VMware Private Cloud infrastructure.
• Proficient with Ansible Playbooks and programming, RH Satellite, Open Shift or any other Kubernetes based container technology and IPA.
• Fluent in multiple scripting/development languages -Bash, Python, Perl, PowerShell, C, Go.
• Demonstrated experience in supporting large development teams and designing infrastructure for high availability and continual operations.
• Strong knowledge on public cloud technology and cloud computing with Azure as a preference.
• Experienced and confident in coaching and supporting engineering team members.
