ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering with 12+ years of technical safety and loss prevention offshore experience with Engineering Companies
  • Conversant with German / Dutch offshore regulations
  • Familiar with DNV and VdS standards requirements
  • Hands-on experience in dealing with HVDC/ HVAC projects
  • Working knowledge of offshore safety equipment e.g. life boats, fast rescue crafts etc.
  • Conversant with softwares like, DNV PHAST, PIPENET, Isograph Reliability workbench.
  • Good presentation, training and communication skills to both internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong time management skills including ability to meet deadlines and manage priorities
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills in English, additionally German / Dutch language is preferred

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for producing deliverables such as HSE design basis, Fire Protection / F&G philosophies, Fire fighting equipment specifications, P&ID, layouts, datasheets, hazardous area schedule, fire proofing schedule, fire & gas mapping, F&G layout, F&G Cause & Effects, performing firewater hydraulics, surge analysis, sizing fire water pump, designing deluge / spray system, gas suppression system, water mist system, Safety and Life saving equipment etc.
  • Organize and participate in workshops such as HAZID, ENVID, OHID, HAZOP, RAM, SIL, Bow-Tie, SCE PS, ALARP, PHSER, SIMOPS
  • Provide inputs like spacing, building locations, fire proofing requirement, blast requirement, sterile distance, stack / vent height, Hazardous Area Classification, Fire and Gas detector locations etc.
  • Coordinate with other discipline and work center Engineers and ensure that the HSE requirements / study recommendations are implemented in the project design
  • Prepare /review inquiry requisitions, technical bid evaluations and purchase requisitions for specialist studies as well as safety and firefighting equipment
  • Responsible for coordination with client, regulatory authorities, consultants, who are assigned to perform specialised studies, 3rd party certifying agencies, consortium partners, subcontractors, other discipline engineers and Project team
  • Monitor the schedule and ensure the project design activities completes within the allotted manhours and schedule
  • Arrange / participate in FAT, SAT and commissioning of fire protection and safety systems
  • Support the construction and commissioning field queries with justification note and calculations
  • Review and approve vendor documents and ensure the timely delivery of the documents
  • Participating in cross-functional and inter-office meetings to provide design inputs to Engineering team
  • Proactively identify and mitigate technical risks during project stage
