Description:

Are you a motivated and talented Engineer looking to progress and develop your career? We have an exciting opportunity for a Principal Engineer to join our forward-thinking local authority using the latest Highway Improvement techniques to manage its network.
Based within North Somerset, boasting both beautiful coastlines and rural countryside, you will play a key role in this essential function to improve our highways across the region. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your skills and play your part within a successful team.

As the Principal Engineer you will be responsible for:

  • Design production
  • Assist in project / contract management.
  • Feasibility and other technical reports under supervision.
  • Development of engineering solutions and presentation of engineering options with guidance when required
  • Produce design concepts, design details, drawings, specifications, contract documents and other technical documents for small schemes or assist as part of larger schemes
  • Assist in the preparation and monitoring of the budget for projects including the planning, monitoring and reporting of project resources
  • Ensure innovation and best practice is adopted where practicable
  • Ensure compliance with relevant technical standards.

Ideally, successful candidates will have level 5 qualification (degree level)
