Description:

WS Audiology is seeking a Principal Engineer, Supplier Quality Management to handle Electronics Manufacturing Service commodities suppliers’ process development and quality management. Key responsibilities include new supplier qualification and capability development, components design review, process setup, and continuous improvement, new technologies study and application, technical and quality issues solving, and driving suppliers to continuously provide high-quality parts. Main roles and responsibilities include:

  • Supplier Quality Management
  • Close collaboration with Commodity Manager from Procurement to derive supplier management strategy for the commodities responsible.
  • Driving team member to implement actions/activities to achieve target
  • Defining terms and requirement for Quality Assurance Agreement, and finalized the signing of contract with supplier
  • Selection, Qualification, and Management of Suppliers
  • Close collaboration with procurement for selection, qualification, monitoring and development of supplier according to Supplier Management procedure.
  • Perform on-site supplier assessment with cross-functional team as part of the supplier qualification if required
  • Component / Material Quality Assurance
  • Work closely with designer and supplier to define CTQ requirement, and ensure supplier set up the necessary control point.
  • Ensure the supplier perform the proper validation for the process or equipment used for production of the product.
  • Ensure supplier set up the correct verification process so that the product meet all the required specification for delivery.
  • Work closely with designer and reliability engineer on the proper set up of test protocol for First Article release.
  • Review First Article report for release of purchase product.
  • Coordinate with designer or engineering on the investigation activities for the major
  • Supplier monitoring and improvement
  • Define the Key performance Index (KPI) for supplier monitoring.
  • Work closely with Business Quality to track the performance.
  • Hold regular meetings with supplier to review performance.
  • Define improvement activities with supplier through SCAR or equivalent.
  • Participate in annual supplier performance assessment.
  • Supplier Audit
  • Perform on-site audit at supplier.
  • Track and review CAPA activities from the audit.

Experience

  • Bachelor in Engineering with 8 years of Supplier Quality Management experience
  • Experience in a high mixed, low volume medical device manufacturing.
  • Able to lead supplier selection, supplier qualification, supplier control and monitoring, and supplier assessment.
  • Experience in managing outsourced EMS suppliers.
  • Familiar with PCB assembly and box build for medical devices.
