Description:
POSITION OVERVIEW
An Engineering Program Manager is accountable for successful outcomes on complex integrated test, measurement, or automation systems for delivery to our customers. They spend most of their time developing, executing, and monitoring a program or project plan, with a strong emphasis on communication management. They are deeply involved in all aspects of the projects, ensuring their accountability for the business and technical success of the solution. The successful Engineering Program Manager is efficiency-driven, looking for ways to improve project timelines and costs without sacrificing quality or customer satisfaction. The Engineering Program Manager is also responsible for managing early access programs that develop future system offerings. In these projects, the EPM will help refine the system offering through customer participation in the program, with project managers leading the individual customer deliveries.
EXPERIENCE
The following skills and experience are required:
- A PMP or PMI-ACP certification, or be able to attain one within six months of hire.
- A minimum of at least eight years of experience leading and directing customer-facing engineering projects.
- Experience in managing customer-facing solution delivery with solid communication skills, presentation skills, and negotiation skills
- A Bachelor’s degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) discipline or equivalent work experience.
- Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 30% of the time.
- A minimum of at least two years of experience leading programs and directing other technical project managers.
- Demonstrated technical and executive communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and work effectively with teams
- US Citizen and ability to qualify for DoD Clearances
- In addition, desired skills and experience may include:
- MBA or Master’s Degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or related discipline
- Aerospace industry test experience is highly desirable.
- Experience managing defense contracts is highly desirable.
- Previous exposure to National Instruments hardware and software and first-hand experience using them is preferred.
- Strong understanding of business concepts such as pricing, costs, margins, terms and conditions preferred
