About the role: The Office of the Deputy Director-General team provides support to the divisional head, as one of the seven divisions in the Department of Justice and Attorney-General. The division consists of six business units being, First Nations Justice Office, Justice Reform Office, Regulatory Policy, Secretariats Support, Special Project and Statutory Reviews, and Strategic Policy and Legislation.By working with us, you will be part of a team that has a crucial role to provide executive and business support to the Deputy Director-General and support the delivery of services by the Justice Policy and Reform Division through consultation and development of corporate relationships across the department to achieve strategic solutions. You will achieve this through providing advice, problem solving, analysis and strategic thinking. Additionally, you will support the administrative processes associated with the proactive release of Cabinet Submissions to meet timeframes stipulated by the Department of Premier and Cabinet’s proactive release policy. To be successful, you will proactively identify opportunities for business improvement and support in corporate governance, correspondence, human resources and finance practices.
What you will bringTo thrive in this role, you will need: - a general understanding of Cabinet, Cabinet Committee and proactive releases.- to work on multiple projects simultaneously and adjusts priorities quickly as circumstances dictate.- to establish and maintain working relationships with team and internal and external stakeholders.- to contribute to workplace equity, diversity and inclusion in a way that enriches our culture of respect and inclusion.- to communicate effectively with First Nations people through applying culturally safe, sensitive and supportive language.- detailed knowledge of finance, budget and procurement processes, including ability to manage a divisional budget and prepare budget submissions.- detailed knowledge of current human resources practices, trends, industrial relations and employee relations with the ability to interpret and apply legislation inthe workplace.
