AWS Specialist Solutions Architects (SSAs) are technologists with deep domain-specific expertise, able to address advanced concepts and feature designs. As part of the AWS sales organization, SSAs work with customers who have complex challenges that require expert-level knowledge to solve. SSAs craft scalable, flexible, and resilient technical architectures that address those challenges. This might involve guiding customers as they refactor an application or designing entirely new cloud-based systems.
Specialist SAs play a critical role in capturing customer feedback, advocating for roadmap enhancements, and anticipating customer requirements as they work backwards from their needs. As domain experts, SSAs also participate in field engagement and enablement, producing content such as whitepapers, blogs, and workshops for customers, partners, and the AWS Technical Field. GenAI Specialist Solutions Architects combine technical skills in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, business acumen, and technical sales skills. They are focused on supporting customers throughout the engagement lifecycle and work closely with the teams that support implementation including AWS Professional Services and Partners. SSAs unblock customers and help them get to production faster. Joining AWS as a Specialist Solutions Architect will give you opportunities to work on interesting and challenging problems, collaborate with a group of skilled practitioners focused on delivering outcomes for our customers, and be part of a diverse and inclusive community committed to being Earth’s Best Employer.
SSAs are part of the Worldwide Specialist Organization (WWSO) which builds and executes go-to-market plans that turn AWS ideas into multi-billion-dollar businesses. Our teams include business development, specialist sales, and specialist solutions architecture, working together to provide customer-obsessed solutions that help people run their businesses more effectively. We pride ourselves on thinking big, delivering exceptional results for our customers, and working across AWS as #OneTeam.
The WWSO GenAI Worldwide GTM team develops and executes the GTM strategy to grow our GenAI business and service our customers across large scale model training, inference, and model consumption of GenAI models from tier-1, 3rd party model providers spanning across several AWS Services. As a Solution Architect on the GenAI team, you will have the opportunity to work across key GenAI-related services like Amazon Bedrock, Jumpstart, Trainium, Inferentia, to develop proof-of-concepts, prototypes, and demos to help customers build, deploy, and consume GenAI models in production. Your work will have a direct impact on enabling customer builds and leveraging GenAI models, GenAI AWS revenue, and developing our services and informing product roadmaps via market and customer signals.
    Key job responsibilities
You will help develop the industry’s best cloud-based solutions to grow the GenAI business. Working closely with our engineering teams, you will help enable new capabilities for our customers to develop and deploy GenAI workloads on AWS. You will facilitate the enablement of AWS technical community, sales, and solution architects with specific customer centric value proposition and demos about end-to-end GenAI on AWS cloud.
You will possess a business and technical background that enables you to drive an engagement and interact at the highest levels with startups, Enterprises, and AWS partners. You will have the technical depth and business experience to easily articulate the potential and challenges of GenAI models and applications to engineering teams and C-Level executives. This requires deep familiarity across the stack – compute infrastructure, ML frameworks, orchestration layers, large models, frameworks like LangChain for developing applications powered by GenAI models, MLOPs, as well as target use cases in the cloud.
You will drive the development of the GTM plan for building and scaling GenAI on AWS, interact with customers directly to understand their business problems, and help them with defining and implementing scalable GenAI solutions to solve them (often via proof-of-concepts). You will also work closely with account teams, research scientists, and product teams to drive model implementations and new solutions.
You should be passionate about helping companies/partners understand best practices for operating on AWS. An ideal candidate will be adept at interacting, communicating and partnering with other teams within AWS such as product teams, solutions architecture, sales, marketing, business development, and professional services, as well as representing your team to executive management. You will also look for patterns and trends that can be broadly applied across an industry segment or a set of customers that can help accelerate innovation.
