Responsibilities:

Avalere is seeking a Principal with deep Medicare Advantage and Part D policy and analytics expertise to join its Policy Analytics team in its Policy Practice. Avalere’s Policy Analytics group provides analytic support and advisory services, including legislative strategy, regulatory analysis, and quantitative modeling of proposed and enacted policies, to a wide range of clients across the healthcare industry. Staff combine an in-depth understanding of quantitative methods with deep subject-matter expertise regarding healthcare policy and business issues.

This group focuses on a range of issues including:

  • Medicare Part D and The Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) of 2022
  • Risk adjustment and payment modeling for Medicare Part D and Medicare Advantage
  • The 340B Drug Pricing Program
  • Drug pricing reform
  • Federal budget forecasting and scoring models
  • Alternative payment models (e.g., CMS Oncology Care Model, Accountable Care Organizations)
  • Health sector economic analysis and trends
  • Healthcare claims analyses

What you’ll do

  • Serve as a subject matter expert on Medicare Part D and Medicare Advantage, as well as legislative and regulatory policy issues impacting the pharmaceutical/ biotech, health insurance, pharmacy and PBM industries.
  • Generate both strategic and tactical recommendations for clients that are responsive to their policy and business needs.
  • Conceptualize the scope of projects for clients, assemble cross-functional teams, and oversee the team from project initiation through to client delivery with minimal oversight.
  • Contribute to practice goal achievement around sales, revenue, and project management.
  • Create and execute on business development plans.
  • Participate in strategic and planning discussions across the firm to develop new business
  • Supervise, train and mentor staff members within the practice and collaborate with colleagues across the group to raise awareness around the policy practice and changes
  • Partner with Avalere and Avalere Health Corporate Marketing teams to help awareness of the Policy Analytics teams expertise
